As always, the attention that this title brings me is a good opportunity for outreach and fund-raising for causes that support our LGBTQ communities. I am involved with several currently. But, a few in particular are very
special to me. I am on the Planning Committee for MODELS OF PRIDE. This is an annual conference produced by Friends of Project 10 to empower and support LGBTQ youth. I will also be co-facilitating a round-table discussion titled "To Be Young & Gay Today" at this year's conference as well as volunteering throughout the day. This will be MOP's 16th successful year. Last year, it attracted nearly 700 LGBTQ youth and their allies. We expect at least that many people, if not more, this year. MODELS OF PRIDE 16 will take place on November 1, 2008 (Saturday).

I will also continue to make regular public speaking engagements at high schools, colleges, and businesses with G.L.I.D.E. (Gays & Lesbians Initiating Dialogue for Equality). "The mission of GLIDE is to eliminate homophobia by providing the general public with factual information and diverse personal experiences about homosexuality."
