BuddhismIn general, Buddhism does not condemn against homosexuality. In fact, some schools of Buddhism such as in Thailand are free of homophobia. Comparing to most of the Western believes, Buddhism are very gay-friendly. One of the reasons is Buddha’s discourses does not explicitly mention homosexuality. As long as a couple does not involve adultery, it would not break one of the percepts.
ChristianityChristianity is the most practiced religion in the world. Within the Christian church, there are wide diversity on the acceptance of homosexuality. There is no consensus on this issue. For instance, the Religious Society of Friends( The Quakers) was openly accept male and female homosexuals. On the other hands, there are many Christian congregations that are strongly against homosexuality.
IslamIslam clearly considers homosexuality to be sinful. Homosexuality is described in Islam scripture as a profound mistake. According to Islam believes, homosexuality is not within human nature, but people become gay because of their environments.
JudaismOverall Judaism is a very diverse religion and congregations. There is no single definitive Jewish policy on homosexuality. For instance, Orthodox Jews view homosexuality as an abomination act, but Reform Jews would accept gay and lesbian rabbis.
HinduismThe acceptance of homosexuality in Hindu is not clear. There is conflict in the Hindu scriptures. For instance, Bhagavad Gita scripture suggest that one must act accordance to true nature. Other scriptures like Manusmriti does not accept homosexuality.
